Vor dem Spiel – Karlsruher SC (A) – Spieltag 8 – Saison 2021/22

Am kommenden Woche trifft der Drittplatzierte der 2. Bundesliga (das sind wir!) auf den Fünftplatzierten – den KSC. Grund genug, mal zu fragen, was bei den Badenern gerade scheinbar gut läuft.

{:en}FC St. Pauli once again showed their offensive strength at home at the Millerntor and deservedly won 4-1 against a clearly overwhelmed FC Ingolstadt. The decisive factors in this match were the behaviour in the transition moments and the almost dreamlike combinations in midfield. With the fourth home win in the fourth game, FC St. Pauli is now deservedly in the relegation places after seven games.{:}

{:de}Das war nicht das Millerntor-Erlebnis, welches wir so lieben, aus diversen Gründen. Es war aber auch zumindest schon mal ein Schritt zurück dorthin. Mögen hoffentlich schnell weitere Schritte folgen (und andere gerne ausbleiben).{:}{:en}It wasn’t the Millerntor experience we love so much, for various reasons. But it was at least a step backwards. Hopefully, more steps will follow quickly (and others will gladly stay away).{:}

{:de}Die Eindrücke, Abläufe und Ereignisse vom Training des FC St. Pauli vor dem Spiel gegen den FC Ingolstadt.{:}{:en}Since the „Lage am Millerntor“ is always bursting at the seams, we have decided to outsource some parts of it in future. One of these parts is the „Report from Kollaustraße“, i.e. our impressions of the training, which we have been attending once a week for some time now. Yesterday, Tuesday, was no exception.{:}

{:de}Ich hasse Länderspielpausen?{:}{:en}I hate international breaks?{:}

{:de}Länderspielpausen sind Mist, keine Frage. Aber sorgen sie auch dafür, dass der FC St. Pauli danach schlechter spielt?{:}{:en}No question, yes, definitely: there is hardly anything more unnecessary in professional football than international match breaks. A not inconsiderable part of this dislike is always contributed when FC St. Pauli is in good form and they are held back by such a break. So, in my search for the culprits for the defeat in Hannover, I pinpointed the international break. It took away FCSP’s good form, once again, I would like to think! But is that really the case? It’s time for some confused statistics again.{:}

{:de}Der FC St. Pauli verliert verdient in Hannover. Verdient deshalb, da er aus massiver optischer Überlegenheit viel zu wenig macht und stattdessen ein lethargisches Bild abgibt.{:}{:en}FC St. Pauli lost against Hannover 96 with 0:1. The biggest opponent was not necessarily Hannover 96, but their own lethargy. Thus, the many ball possession and the visually strong predominance brought relatively little, because hardly any scoring chances were created. Hannover 96, on the other hand, created quite a few chances despite having few ideas of their own. As a result, FC St. Pauli missed out on the leap to the top of the table and – not only because of this – put a severe damper on themselves.{:}
